Hassaan Idrees holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from NUST, and a Masters degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University. He has worked in areas as diverse as electric utility, petroleum, and fast moving consumer goods. As a Fulbright scholar in the U.S. from 2014 to 2016 he has worked in projects for the power systems research center faculty at ASU. Being an active member of IEEE, he has worked as Technical Committee Member for conferences, Member of IEEE MGA Awards Committee, leadership positions in IEEE South Asia Student and Young Professional Activities Committees, and Section Student Activities Committee. He is currently working at K-Electric, a vertically integrated electric utility in southern Pakistan, where he deals in assessment of energy management systems, industrial energy efficiency, development and rollout of plans on integration of renewable electrical energy systems, and introduction of demand response in the regional distribution grid.
